Ian and his Irish friends visit Racing: “The stadium is beautiful”

Irish visitors next Saturday in Mechelen! 15 Bohemian FC-fans will attend the Racing Mechelen-Herentals game.

Racing Mechelen has fans all over the world. The best example: Ian Hopkins and his friends are football lovers ánd Racing-lovers. We wish them a very warm welcome at the OVK-venue.

Ian, who are you?

“We are a group of supporters and members of Bohemian FC in Dublin. Our season in Ireland does not start until February, so we are going to see some football in Mechelen. We have been to Racing before and wanted to come back.”

“We have supported the club sinds 2015. Our first visit was the game in de 2nd league against Antwerp, early 2015. We visited the club again in 2017.”

The OVK-ground is a must-see for groundhoppers. Do you like our old skool stand?

“The stadium is our main reason to love Racing. It is beautiful and it is everything a stadium should be. The fans are also really friendly and we always have a good time in the clubhouse.”

How do you follow our club in Ireland? On tv :-)?

“Racing have very good social media, so we follow through Facebook and Instagram and on the website.”

How will your Mechelen-weekend look like?

“We arrive to Brussels on Friday and spend the night there. On Saturday morning we will travel to Mechelen. On Sunday we fly home.”

“When we arrive in Mechelen, we will check to our hotel and then spend a day sampling the local beer and food before the game. There is 15 of us in the group.”

“We sponsor the match ball. We put some money together and will be present to give the kick off.”
